Celestun Tour from Merida

Category: Familiar
Location: Mérida

We arrived at the Celestún Biosphere Reserve, an ecotourism park in the state of Yucatán, where we boarded a boat for a two-hour tour through the mangroves. The tour included visits to:

1. Bird Island, a resting area for a wide variety of local and migratory birds.

2. The point where the sea meets the estuary.

3. The area for observing pink flamingos.

4. A mangrove tunnel.

5. A natural spring.

6. A Mayan clay bath.

7. The ruins of La Herradura.

Afterward, we headed to the beach to enjoy La Ramada de la Tía Candi, a beachfront restaurant where you can use the lounge chairs, restrooms, and showers. Lunch is included, and you'll have free time to swim and explore the surrounding area before returning to Mérida.

The food menu, tour recommendations, and meeting points can be found in the FAQ section on this page.
